RESEARCH & INNOVATION
The Hospital Research Authority conducts a variety of clinical studies in many areas including COVID-19, SARS, cardiology, oncology and hematology. An average of 500 research clinical trials are conducted at Assuta Ashdod at any given time, with an average of almost 15 new projects joining every month. Approximately 60% have commercial applications.
The Department of Medical Innovation aims to promote changes in the healthcare system, technological development and research, and to improve quality of care.
The ADAMA Health-Tech Accelerator
Was created in collaboration with eHealthcare Ventures incubator as a 10-week intensive program designed to support hospital staff in their efforts to develop, test and implement new approaches to improve health care quality, efficiency and delivery. Working closely with mentors from high tech companies, tech incubators and academic institutions, this program offers Assuta Ashdod’s entrepreneurs the knowledge, tools and guidance to promote their innovation and advance their idea from inception to bringing successful innovations to scale.
Innovation Ambassadors Course in Health Organizations
Is a course for hospital employees focusing on the important value of innovation and entrepreneurship in hospital activities. Multidisciplinary workshops are conducted for hospital staff including maintenance, administration, nursing and physicians.

One of three medical centers chosen to participate in comparing military technology transferred into remote vital signs measurement apparatus, to allow evaluation of COVID-19 patients avoiding the need for direct contact with the medical team.
Ben Gurion University
Cooperation with BGN Technologies - a technology company of Ben-Gurion University, bringing technological innovation from lab to market and fostering entrepreneurship among researchers and students.
Participating in a unique multicenter project to create a large surgical video data set to enable computerized deep-learning analysis which assists surgeons with the decision making process.
EH Ventures Ltd
Cooperation agreement with a digital health incubator for an accelerated approval process of POC projects.
Unidress Ltd
Development of a unique device to avoid injuries of geriatric patients with dementia caused by falling from beds during their hospital stay.
